"Everything comes from you, O Lord."-1 Chronicles 29:14
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I want to thank you for giving your time and talent to the many ministries
here at Prince of Peace. We have so much to be grateful for as a church family
(even in this challenging economic climate). As we continue to grow as a church,
we look forward to an exciting and challenging year under God's guidance.
As stewards (managers on God's behalf) of this church, it is now that time of
year when we are called on to look at all that God has blessed us with and give something in
thanksgiving in return. Prince of Peace and the ministries of this church cost money.
Hopefully, over the past few months you have been giving prayerful consideration about
your financial giving to God's work through Prince of Peace. Father Brian said in a
recent sermon that "we have been giving offerings to God for thousands of years." He asked
what is perhaps a not so rhetorical question, "How much is enough?" In the Hebrew Scriptures,
the children of Israel were commanded to set aside ten percent of their income as
a gift to God. Question: Do you think as Christians God is asking us for less?
I believe God commands 100% of all our lives, time, talent and treasure. We have moved from the
law of tithe to the grace of generosity with Jesus. What will you give Him this year?
In the next few days, you will receive a giving card and also information on options
to financially give electronically (either by auto pay or by credit card). I ask you to please return
your giving card by Sunday, November 2, 2014
Make a commitment to God through financial giving to Prince of Peace so that
together we can continue to share the word of the Lord and help this community to know, grow in, follow, worship,
and share Jesus as Savior and Lord.
Your Sister in Christ,
Kendall A. Childs, Stewardship Chair
