A place to grow as a Disciple
WHY SMALL GROUPS?
In The Purpose Driven Life, Rick Warren writes,
"God intends for us to experience life together. The Bible calls this fellowship … real fellowship is so much more than just showing up at services … It includes unselfish loving, honest sharing, practical serving, sacrificial giving, sympathetic comforting, and all the other 'one another' commands found in the New Testament."
DEFINITION OF BIBLICAL COMMUNITY
"Christian Community is the body of Christ expressing the life and message of Christ to build up one another and redeem the world for God's glory."
Believers in Christ are called to live in mutually accountable relationships as they reflect the loving character of God, walk in step with the Holy Spirit, and build up the church in order to proclaim the Good News to the world.
THE PURPOSE OF A SMALL GROUP
is to have a place where you can share life, learn about God and grow in your individual "Acts 2" church, where people gathered together in the temple but also met in homes. We are committed to having everyone in this Parish connected in a Life Group.
"Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people" (Acts 2: 46-47)
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching." (Hebrews 10:24-25)
